Healthy Snack Reflection

Was my snack healthy? Justify why you say yes or no. Think about what we’ve talked about sugar and fats. Overall, my snack was healthy, but I used maple syrup which was only partly natural. I used blueberries as a natural sweetener instead of adding sugar and coconut milk has its own sweetness. When you choose a snack do you think about how healthy/unhealthy it is? Why or why not. I usually do. After school, my snake is a couple types of fruits with a glass of milk, with the occasional cookie/muffin. We have all sorts of snacks at home, some of which seem very healthy but actually are not, so I have to think about it. Do you think food is meant to be eaten with other people? What are some effects of eating and socializing at the same time? It depends on who you are with and what you're talking about. If you are sitting with som eone who you don't want to eat with, you won't even be able to swallow your food properly. If you're sitting with your best friends...

Dear Anika, I’ve noticed that a popular group of boys who hang out near my locker have become friends with a loner boy, who isn’t cool or popular. When the loner boy is not around, the popular boys are constantly make fun of him. I overheard them saying that they only befriended him for entertainment. I know this isn’t right. I feel bad for the loner boy. What should I do? From, Abby. ------ Dear Abby, You are correct, what the popular boys are doing isn’t right. And yes, you must tell this boy being made fun of. You can do this in two simple steps: ➔ Step 1: Talk to the loner boy privately about why the other boys befriended him. You’ve have to tell, for the benefit of you and the boy. But you must sound assertive, and not like you’re tattletaling. The boy probably won’t believe you at first , then give him examples of how his ‘friends’ are talking about him and why. ➔ Step 2: Since you are a third party in this matter, you should not intervene. Instead...

What are your friendship strengths and challenges? Some of my friendship strengths would be staying loyal and being able to know what a friend needs and when they need (I call that a friendship hunch). A challenge I face is that it's hard for me to find someone I trust to be my friend, and when I find a person I do trust, I cling onto them. Explain what you’ve learned about the movement pattern (Rotations) and concept (Tactics and Shots). I've learned that it's very important to have a good rotation motion when I'm about to swing otherwise that ball won't go where I want it to. A concept I learned is to hit the ball to where my opponent(s) aren't. What are 2 specific things you’d like to accomplish this year in PE? I want to be able to improve my stamina (specifically in running). I also want to be able to learn how to watch and control what I eat.

This is my section in the video: https://youtu.be/buWqCAz4AGQ?t=1m36s (From 1:36 to 1:46) I am facing forward position and when the ball comes, I drop my racquet back and swing to hit the ball. My wrist is not as firm as it should be though. Because of that, I end up not following through with my racquet. You can see this here: My swing is supposed to look like this: (Images from here: https://youtu.be/UM0Tn3WLACY?t=1m25s ) I do not follow through, which leaves me in a twisted pretzel shape... Two good things I am doing in my forearm swing are: I start in the right forward position I move one of my feet back so I can do a clean swing Two things I need to work on are: I need to make my wrist more firm when I swing After I am able to swing with a firm wrist, I will be able to follow through on my swing correctly.

*Important vocabulary is underlined What are the common properties of all polygons? Some facts that all polygons share are: 1. All polygons have to be a closed shape. 2. A polygon must have straight sides i.e. no curved sides. 3. Polygons can't have any intersecting lines, but they must have 3 or more sides. 4. All of the polygon's sides must meet at vertices (corners) , which form angles. ••• What does the measure in degrees tell you about an angle? What are some common benchmark angles? The amount of turn between two straight lines that have a common endpoint or vertex is called an angle . From the measure of degrees, we learn how far the moving arm (called the terminal side/arm ) is from the starting arm (called the initial side/arm ). In this example: I can see that the terminal side has moved 20 ° from the initial side. This creates a 20° angle. Common benchmark angles are usually multiples of either 45 ° or 30°. The most common b...
