Rock Climbing Reflection

Image
I think I did well in climbing higher each time, and I'm proud of getting over the red line at least twice. I've always enjoyed rock climbing, but I could never get too far off the ground and during this unit, I thought I improved since whenever I did rock climbing last. I think I can work on pacing my self and 'know' the wall. I had trouble finding good foot holds.

The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle Book Trailer & Reflection

Image
This unit, we learned about character and how there are many ways to find a character's true personality. We also learned how to write literary essays about character and theme. We learned this by making charts, reading lots of examples and journal writing. This is all important to learn because it'll help us find out more about people that aren't just in books, and may also help when finding someone to work with or being friends with.

Typical Height of a 6th Grader at SAS Paragraph

The most surprising thing in the data and distribution is that the range is so big. No and no, the graphs are fine. The most visible cluster would be 56 to 71. The only gap is 71 to 73. The middle of the distribution is 62 because it stands out the most. The end is 73. There is only one cluster and one gap. The data is spread out, the minimum being 56 to the maximum 73. No, the sides aren't symmetrical. No, it's not shewed. Yes, 73 would be an outlier.

I think I did well in showing my work, which I should start doing more often. I could improve on checking that I wrote the write answer (and included the units).

Fitness iMovie Part 2

SELF REFLECTION What did you do well in your fitness iMovie? I feel I did well when I edited the movie together. What could you have improved on in your fitness iMovie? I could have  stopped  laughing when filming. PEER REFLECTION What did your peers say that you did well in your iMovie?   They said I did well in putting the video clips together, and making it enjoyable. What did they learn? They learned precautions and things they should do before doing cardiovascular activity. What did your peers say that you could improve on in your fitness iMovie? Maybe adding more things we could do, making more it informative, but still funny. COLLABORATION REFLECTION What was your personal strength collaborating? Leader, ideas, problem solve, positive attitude, worker. Ideas, problem solving and attitude. How could your group have worked together more effectively? We had a problem when importing the video clips, and I was rushed making the video the...

What is the typical height of a 6th grader in SAS?

1) What is the typical height of a 6th grader at SAS? -- A typical 6th grader at SAS would be around 61 inches. 2) How do you compare? -- You could compare the heights by making a 'dot plot'. 3) Does the height 6th graders have a lot of variability? How do you know? -- Yes, there is a lot of variability. I know this because the rage of the data is 20, and that is really big. Also, if another student joined 6th grade who was 73 inches, the range would become 21, which increases variability. _____________________________________ The heights of all 6th graders in SAS are: 52,52,52,53,54,55,56,56,56,56,56,56,57,57,57,57,57,57,57,58,58,58,58,58,58,58,58,58,58,58,58,58,58,58,58,59,59,59,59,59,59,59,59,59,59,59,59,59,59,60,60,60,60,60,60,60,60,60,60,60,60,60,60,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,61,62,62,62,62,62,62,62,62,62,62,62,63,63,63,63,63,63,63,63,63,64,64,64,64,64,64,64,64,64,64,65,65,65,65,65,66,66,66,66,66,66,66,66,67,67,6...

U2 Check Up 2

This was a re-do quiz. I got 3+ On the original, I got 2+ This shows that if I study enough, I will get the score I aimed for (or close to the score I aimed for). I need to remember to organise my thinking on my work-sheet and I also need to remember to never lose a quiz again!

Sub Hunters (2015)

I added a cool background, and all the coding. It was hard to keep up because the class was really fast paced, but I really enjoyed your class, Mr. Selley!

This shows that I know all that I need to so far, but can still trip when actually reading the question . I need to really re-read the questions.

Unit 2 Partner Quiz Reflection

Image
1.  It shows I know all the basics, but not 'over the top' knowledge.  2.  I need to review at home more often instead of only on Saturday. 3.  4:6 and 10:15 are equal because they both can be reduced to 2:3. (2:3 x 2= 4:6, 2:3 x 5= 10:15)

Fractions and Ratios

All fractions are ratios, but not all ratios are fractions. How are they (fractions and ratios) similar? How are they (fractions and ratios) different? Fractions and ratios are similar because fractions are part to  whole, and ratios can also be part to whole. They (fractions and ratios) can be different because ratios aren't always part to whole. Ratios can also be part to part. For example: sugar to salt = 5:7, which is part to part. If you have to turn the sugar to salt problem into a fraction, it would be 5/12 (part to whole). 5 would be the sugar and 7+5=12  and twelve is the whole. When are fractions useful? When are ratios useful? Fractions are useful when you're dividing up a cake for a group of people. For example, you have 12 guests and you have a vanilla cake that you want to give to everyone. For some reason, 5 people don't want vanilla. So, 5/12 will not have cake, but 7/12 will. Ratios are useful when comparing the amounts of two things. For example:...

Legacy Video and Reflectioin

Image
I have learned more about China's first Emperor. I've also learned how to decide someone's legacy. I learned this by watching a short documentary about him and also by reading a short story also about the Emperor. This is important because it helps us learn how to build a strong argument, which we have to know about depending on our career choice in the future. I hope you like the video!

Page 2 Page 1 1. This shows I know the topic well but I am still a little shaky on some parts. 2.  I need to pay more attention to what we are learning in class. I got a 3-.

Unit 1 Check Up 2 Reflection

Image
1)  I was a little bit confused on questions 2 and 3, which I only got a half point for both. I do not know what I did wrong, though. 2)  I can review my problems after I am done and if I have time left.  (I got a 2)

U1 Check Up 1 Reflection

1)  This assessment shows that I know very clearly about factors, multiples,  LCM and square numbers. I know this because I was able to  give a short explanation for every question. 2) I think I did a good job in explaining why I chose the answer I chose.

Parent / Student Agreements

Image
As we step into 6th grade, we are actually not fully responsible yet. However, I think that we are still young enough to still learn the correct way of how to take care of a laptop and it will grow into a positive and useful habit soon. I will charge the laptop as soon as I'm done using it and before dinner in my parent's room. In the morning, I'll take it from their room and put it in my backpack.

Keep Your Electronic Devices Safe!

Image
Keep Your Electronic Devices Safe! By Anika Rudra I love technology. There are so many things you can do like listen to Nightcore music and Ariana Grande or watch Star Wars . And now there are so many types of gadgets that use technology, and so many more are being sold. Why? This happens because many people need to buy replacements. Spilled water on laptops and broken screens on tablets, we all need to learn to take care of our electronics. I’ll tell you how! Firstly, you must have case for whatever device you are using. They have a case for any type of tech, like iPads, iPhones, laptops, and much more. The important thing about cases is how strong they are. I like customising my cases. Secondly, keep electronics away from all foods and liquids. If something does fall on your electronic, wipe it off immediately with a dry cloth or tissue paper. If you don’t, your device can crash or mess up it’s wiring. Also, when you’re not using your device, remember to keep ...
